November 27, 2007 The Timex Sinclair 2068 keyboard rated 9th worst according to Benj Edwards' PC World The 10 Worst PC Keyboards of All Time article. Less than complimentary about our dear old computer, the author writes "It's no exaggeration to say that using the 2068's keyboard without training was like trying to type while drunk and blindfolded." The Timex Sinclair 1000 keyboard was ranked 4th worst - an assesment I agree with, given the number of times I was close to finish typing a program only to knock the 16k expander slightly enough to reset the computer.

October 27, 2001 Wow, lots of changes lately. First off, we're on a new server, this one will be much more reliable, and available. Second, we have restarted the TS2068 email list now hosted by www.yahoogroups.com. Go there to subscribe, we'd love to have you aboard. Third, I've been scanning in a pile of Timex Sinclair rags that are from the era (Time Designs, and others) that Tim has kindly lent me. Other things in the works are the bibliography, the pictures of Tim's Sinclair collection and more. Stay tuned!

September 14, 2001 Due to the tragedy that has occured earlier this week, the Vintage Computer Festival 5.0, in San Jose, California has been postponed. Link here for more details. The California Extreme 2001 Arcade show is still on, however.

September 11, 2001 Our condolences out to those who have and are suffering from these horrific actions from extremists. We ask that you temper your reactions and realize that there are very few who would commit these atrocities, and there are so many more people shocked about this event than you may ever know.

August 12, 2001 A member of our community was mentioned in a local paper- check out [-- Dead link: http://www.argus-ang.com/default.asp?puid=31&spuid=31&indx=1030662&article=on" ] a small piece on Tim Swenson, who is preparing a Sinclair exhibit for the Vintage Computer Festival that occurs September 15-16. If you're out and about in San Jose, California, definitely go by and check it out, last year it was very nice and this year it looks like its gearing up rather nicely again- there is also a old video games expo going on simultaneously, a definite treat for those of us in love with the hardware of old. The e-mail list is *still* not up, sorry about that, definitely working on it and hope to have it up very soon.

August 8, 2001 So I've created the email list on yahoo groups, and am attempting to upload the entire archive there so that we can use the search facilities and so forth- unfortunately, yahoo didn't like the way I was sending the messages, so its been delayed for a day or two. Please be patient, I will let everyone know when I get the list in good condition to go. In other news, I'm currently looking for work again, so if you need a Java Developer with web and applications experience contact me at my email so we can talk. Thanks for your patience.

June 10, 2001 My bid on a TS2068 book posted on ebay got clipped at the last second. *sigh* Posted Luke Perry's scans of The Best of Time Designs - Volume 1. Excellent work on his part, thank you very much. I still have plans to make the textbooks reference page, as I've got a good list so far. Mail list is still offline :(

November 17, 2000 Added Larken manuals to the peripherals section. Alvin sent me details on his FPGA project, and I've added them to the code page.

October 18, 2000 Been a bit offline, for a few reasons- got some criticals to hit at my real job, and I've also been distracted by my new Commodore 64-SX; although I still haven't been able to get any software to run on it. Got a bummer of an earache, too. Alvin delivered on his promise part one: Updated z80fpga project file has been sent to me and uploaded to the website, replacing the files I had there. I will now anxiously await a description of the project. Thanks Alvin!

October 11, 2000 As requested, added Sir Clive Sinclair's portrait to the site, courtesy of Abed Kahale. Johnny Red sent me an email with a bunch of details to fix up on the site! Lots of stuff to add, he's pointed me to pictures of the TS2068 schematics, the Official Spectrum Cart and others. I have downloaded them and will be uploading them over the coming days (already did the cool looking cart...).

October 8, 2000 Some more original-you-won't-find-it-anywhere-but-here content: I recreated the how-to for modifying the Westridge modem into a serial port to let you use a faster modems than 300 baud. Check it out here. I also added it as a link to the code page. Still owe everyone the TS2068 book library. Maybe next weekend.

October 1, 2000 Got a reply back from Alvin, he promises me a great writeup of the projects he worked on!

September 30, 2000 Went to the VCF- not as big as I had hoped it would be. And to top it off, all I got to see was a box full of TS1000's in terrible shape thrown in a pile. No other Timex Sinclair items around. Added more sections to the Code page: Added Remakes/Hardware Hacks from Poland (original site is gone, shame), added the TS2068 IMP Overlay, added How To Draw on Screen and the link to the Windows Spectrum Theme. Cleaned up all of my working directories on the system, separating all the images used on the site from the site art. This leaves me with about 35 images left to place, about 10 of them book covers, and the rest are program packaging snapshots. When this is completed, the site will be opened for public consumption!
